Illusions trick us into perceiving something differently than it actually exists. Illusions in artwork create a sense of depth, movement or hidden images. I’ve used techniques in holographic and agamographic art to create optical illusions that let the viewer see images that change with their viewing angle and perspective. Another technique to create an illution is to feature digital imagery printed on cotton with a silk organza overlay of the same image to create wall hangings. Walking past the hanging or a slight breeze in the room results in movement of the silk overlay.
